Rosemount High School has a long history of being recognized for excellence as it has served the residents of Rosemount and surrounding cities since 1918.
Awards include:
National Ranking by U. S. News & World Report. Rosemount High School continues to be nationally ranked with U.S. News Best High Schools. Rosemount High School has a national ranking of 1,411 out of 17,680 high schools across the country, and we ranked 19 out of 927 Minnesota high schools.
Red Quill Legacy Award winner selected by ACT for the second straight year. Rosemount High School joins the following MN schools as Red Quill Schools: St. Michael-Albertville, Stillwater Area High School and Red Quill Legacy Schools: Benilde-St. Margaret’s School, Hill Murray School, Marshall School, Marshall School, Orono High School, Virginia High School. ACT states, "The Red Quill Award was developed to honor education organizations that recognize the need for diligent analysis of data and a willingness to develop and enhance curriculum and instruction based on the needs of their learning community. Participating schools have demonstrated a high level of dedication and focus in their efforts to provide their students with the best opportunity to succeed. The Red Quill Legacy Award is made to those learning organizations which have already been recognized in previous years for their best practices. The Red Quill Legacy award recognizes long term commitment leading to increased student achievement and systemic improvements."
Ranking in Best Public High Schools in Minnesota by Niche.com. Rosemount High School is ranked #18 for 2018 in Best Public High Schools in Minnesota by Niche.com. The Niche ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users.
MONEY magazine ranks Rosemount, MN as a top place to live. Money Magazine ranks Rosemount, MN #4 nationally in Best Places to Be a Kid and #12 nationally in Top 50 Best Places to Live. MONEY's rankings are based on educational outcomes, safety, child obesity rates, and proximity to libraries museums, movie theaters, aquariums, zoos and green spaces, giving the most weight to safety and education. It is limited to one place per state.
College Success Awards 2019, 2021, 2022. This award recognizes high schools that excel in ensuring students are prepared for college and succeed once they get there. Rosemount High School has received the College Success Reward in 2019, 2021, and again in 2022.
America's Best High School ranking by Newsweek magazine. Newsweek magazine ranked Rosemount High School as one of the top schools in the nation for 2014. Newsweek also selected RHS as a top school in the nation in 2013 and 2012. The ranking indicates a school has proven to be most effective in turning out college-ready grads and is based on graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course.
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award granted by the U.S. Department of Education.
Top ranked school designation by the Minnesota Department of Education. The MDE created a ranking system for Minnesota Schools as part of the states response to the No Child Left Behind Act. All Minnesota Schools are ranked with a score that reflects points the school earned in the following four areas: performance, growth, achievement gap reduction and, for high schools only, graduation rate. Go to the MDE website, select "What are our Multiple Measurement Ratings?", select district "Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan" and then school "Rosemount High School".
Star of Innovation Award - Gold Star Winner. The MASSP (Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals) designated Rosemount High School as one of two gold star schools in Minnesota for 2012-2013. This is their highest honor. RHS's winning program was "Leading and Developing Readiness/Concurrent College Enrollment for the Academic Middle". The award is sponsored by Horace
Minnesota Alliance of Arts in Education School of Excellence Award.
Minnesota State High School League Spotlight on Scholarship Award.
Best Public School for the 2010-2011 through 2013-2014 school years ranking by the Sun Current - Farmington Rosemount publication. The publication also named Rosemount High School Assistant Principal Mike Manning Best Principal and Band Director Steve Olsen Best Teacher for the 2010-2011 school year.
